about

This song I wrote in Montana. I thought it would be fun to use things from Montana especially to make the percussion (like a cardboard box that I got in the mail and a drill I found lying around). Let's just say it's difficult to make a cardboard box sound like a kick drum, but I think the end result worked!

lyrics

It's been a long long time
That I have worked upon this boat
It's a familiar sight
When the waters start to roll

And just like every storm before
The darkest clouds cover the skies
It's not that I'm surprised
It's just a matter of time

But I can feel the waters rising
And I see the swelling tide
My mind begins to circle
As the battle starts inside

Oh I know that you are with me
And I know that you are near
And I know that you are stronger
I know I don't have to fear
How come every step I take I'm sinking

You see the battle's just begun
So stubborn I refuse to run
But It's becoming clear
If I don't move I'll lose the Son

But I can feel the waters rising
And I see the swelling tide
My mind begins to circle
As the battle starts inside

Oh I know that you are with me
And I know that you are near
And I know that you are stronger
I know I don't have to fear
How come every step I take I'm sinking

Sinking....

Oh I know that you are with me
And I know that you are near
And I know that you are stronger
I know I don't have to fear
And I know that you are sovereign
And I know you set us free
Lord please reach right through the storm and save me
